Daily Nourishment for May 26: The Morning and the Light Outside
Daily Nourishment Read Time: 45 seconds
Pause/Prompt/Practice Time: 13 minutes
“A pattern slowly rises to the surface and makes itself apparent; the thing left in and thought to be unimportant becomes the passage that anchors the entire piece.” - Bill Killebrew
Pause.
Take six deep breaths with a six-count inhale and a six-count exhale. Then look at The Morning and the Light Outside for a few minutes.
Prompt.
Set a ten-minute timer and take notes on the light where you’re sitting right now. What do you notice about the light? Can you see any light outside if you’re inside your home or another building? Include details on various sources of light, light’s presence or absence, and its effect on the space, atmosphere, and objects inside it.
Practice.
Give your attention to the light every few hours throughout the day. Take notes using the questions above if you like.
