Daily Nourishment for March 16: Move Away from Chaos and Towards Peace
Daily Nourishment Read Time: 35 seconds
Pause/Prompt/Practice Time: 10-15 minutes
If things are too chaotic, put yourself in the way of peace—in any possible ways at the moment—and move towards the writing life you want, the life you want.
Pause.
Close your eyes.
During your next inhale, say “receive peace” to yourself and imagine inhabiting a peaceful scene in your personal and daily life.
During your next exhale, say “release chaos,” and visualize chaos leaving your personal and daily life.
Breathe in peace and breathe out chaos 10 times.
Prompt.
List five things that bring peace to your life and writing practice.
List five things that bring chaos to your life and writing practice.
Take notes for seven minutes about your lists and anything else that comes to mind.
Practice.
Be intentional and put yourself in the way of things that bring you peace today and in the coming days—even while global peace is not a reality.
More than one thing can be true at the same time. We can seek peace where possible throughout our typical days in our roles and responsibilities while acknowledging the very real wars, systems of oppression, and harmful power plays happening all around us.
