Daily Nourishment for January 29: Move Toward Creative Resistance

Daily Nourishment Read Time: 30 seconds
Pause/Prompt/Practice Time: 15 minutes

If you’re having trouble writing, can moving toward the resistance provide creative inspiration?

Prompt.

List five things you’ve done recently instead of writing.

  1. List five things you can see right now.

  2. List five things you can hear right now.

  3. List five things you want to write about one day soon.

  4. Take notes for seven minutes about your lists and anything else that comes to mind.

Practice.

For an entire day, keep a list of the things you do instead of writing. Then see what patterns emerge and which insights you receive. See what happens next.
