Taste: Coffee isn’t just a caffeine kick, it’s a sensual grounding in space telling you it’s time to do the thing.

Pause.

Take five minutes to drink your coffee or tea (or another beverage of choice!) slowly and mindfully. Hold the cup and feel its warmth. Feel how the warm liquid touches your lips, and a welcome flood of taste fills a once empty space. Do this before work or during a break.

Prompt.

Set a timer for five minutes to freewrite. What do you love or hate about coffee or tea? When do you remember liking or hating the taste? Did you ever ask for a sip from your mom or dad’s cup? What was it like? Have you ever tried to quit? Why or why not?

Practice.

Set a timer for five minutes and begin writing an ode to coffee (or tea or another beverage of choice) or write a prayer you would say while drinking your morning cup. Listen and read the sources below for inspiration.
